Accused absent, case adjourned

A case against businessman Chris Rogers and co-accused Walter O’Neal Prescod came up before the High Court today for arraignment.

However, the matter was not heard as Prescod was not present before the No. 2 Supreme Court.

The matter, which is being prosecuted by Director of Public Prosecutions Donna Babb-Agard Q.C. and Crown Counsels Danielle Mottley and Romario Straker, was adjourned by Justice Randall Worrell for a new date to be set.

Rogers, of York Road Navy, Gardens, Christ Church and Prescod, of Emerald Park East, St Philip are charged with possession of 121.4 kilogrammes of cannabis within the territorial waters of Barbados on July 23, 2018. The two are also facing charges of importation and having a trafficable quantity of the illegal substance.

Rogers is being represented by Queen’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim.
