BWA conducting inspection of its sewage networks

The Barbados Water Authority advises that its Wastewater Inspectorate has begun inspecting domestic properties connected to its South Coast and Bridgetown sewer networks. This activity is expected to last until around the end of August this year.

The Authority is therefore asking customers for their cooperation during this exercise as it seeks to properly maintain the sewer networks.

Industrial Waste Inspector, Verrol-Ann Scott stated that “the team will be focusing on grease traps and possible storm water connections. Residents may be asked to open their grease traps during the inspections and to allow the personnel access to walk around the property as well.”

The group which comprises Ms. Scott and two junior Inspectors Mr. Romel Parris and Mr. Daniel Singh, will be outfitted in BWA branded reflector jackets and will carry BWA issued picture ID at all times.

On occasions, the Wastewater Inspectors will be accompanied by an Environmental Inspector from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

The team who will also be educating customers on the correct usage of the sewer network, will be happy to answer any questions you may have and assist wherever they can.

The BWA thanks you for your cooperation as it undertakes this initiative. (BWA)
