We have spent many memorable holidays in Barbados, what more could you ask for from a holiday destination with its fantastic beaches, warm evenings, the best food we have had abroad and locals that are genuinely pleased to pass the time of day with you.

We have missed you Barbados so much over the last two years because of covid, unfortunately it looks more than likely that we shall have to put off yet again our visit to this magical island.

The reasons we are hesitant are not a criticism of Barbados in any way, every precaution Barbados has taken to keep COVID at bay has been the correct action which we applaud you for.

To travel to Barbados from the UK at present, despite us having both  COVID vaccinations, involves having a test prior to leaving the UK, having a test on arrival in Barbados, booking government approved accommodation for two nights to wait the outcome of the tests, having a test prior to leaving Barbados and finally having another test on arrival back in the UK.

For us this is just not feasible from a financial point of view and the worry that just one inconclusive covid test could result in us stranded.

We fully recognise the risk we could cause by carrying covid into your country which is not helped by the slow and low uptake of the covid vaccine within Barbados.

We are ready to return to  Barbados when the testing process is no longer required and 80 per cent or more citizens of Barbados are vaccinated, we cant wait to return to Barbados.
