BICO products now in Guyana

Guyanese will soon have access to a range of frozen delights from local ice cream manufacturer BICO Limited which recently dispatched its first shipment of products to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) member state.

The move comes as the company ramps up its distribution across the region, almost four months after it exported products to Dominica, back in March.

Sales and Business Development Manager Dwayne Holmes expressed optimism about the development and suggested that the company’s increasing exports are a “positive sign, not only for BICO but other Barbadian businesses seeking to expand regionally”.

Growing demand for the products in nearby territories has seen BICO Limited working diligently to pursue markets in Trinidad, Antigua, South America and others, the company said.

With Massy Distribution in Guyana set to sell the company’s products, BICO’s Commercial Director Haydn Alleyne expects the response to be favourable, as ice cream from the brand “has been highly requested since the reopening of the factory in Barbados”.

The shipment which was expected to arrive last Friday includes a variety of lines from the company, including Double Delight, Tropical Delight and BICO Limited’s ice cream product aimed at the health conscious market, Skinny Delight. (SD/PR)
