Man charged in road death granted $5 000 bail

A 49-year-old contractor is facing a death by dangerous charge four years after the deadly incident.

Richard Oscar Aaron Leacock, of Silver Hill Drive, Christ Church appeared in the District ‘A’ Traffic Court on Monday.

He is alleged to have caused the death of 72-year-old St Thomas resident Michael Greaves on February 3, 2017 around 11:30 p.m. along Green Hill, St Michael by driving motor car XH322 in a manner dangerous to the public.

He was not required to plead to the indictable charge when he appeared before Magistrate Alison Burke.

There was no objection to his bail and the accused was released on a $5 000 surety.

Leacock is expected to make his next appearance before the court on January 25, 2022.
