Curfew still in place for long weekend

The public is reminded that as the long bank holiday weekend approaches, there has been no adjustment to the 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. curfew times as stated in Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Curfew) (No. 13) Directive, 2021.

The clarification comes in response to messages circulating on social media that the curfew times had been adjusted.

Additionally, residents are reminded that it is illegal to hold parties at this time and they should consult Section 10 (1) which states: No person shall hold or attend:

  1. a. a fete;
  2. b. a private party;
  3. c. a private banquet, ball or dance;
  4. d. a social event known as a “bus crawl”;
  5. e. a karaoke event; or
  6. f. a bus or other vehicular excursion

The current directive runs from Monday, July 26, to Sunday, August 8. (JC/BGIS)
