COVID-19 UPDATE: 12 new cases, 97 in isolation

Twelve new cases of COVID-19, six males and six females, have been identified by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory. There were 1,653 tests carried out on Thursday, August 5.

Ninety-seven persons are in isolation.

Barbados has recorded 4,455 cases of the viral illness (2,164 females, 2,291 males) and 48 deaths, since March last year.

The public health laboratory has conducted 225,878 tests.

To date, 100,268 first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme. A total of 77,922 persons (28.8 per cent of the population) are fully vaccinated, having received their second dose. (BGIS)
