COVID-19 UPDATE: 9 new cases, 101 in isolation

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory has reported nine new cases of COVID-19, three females and six males.  It conducted 1,530 tests on Friday, August 6.

There are 101 persons in isolation.

Since March last year, Barbados has recorded 4,464 cases of the viral illness (2,167 females and 2,297 males) and 48 deaths.

To date, a total of 227,408 tests have been carried out by the public health laboratory.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 100,392 first doses have been administered, so far.  Meanwhile, 78,676 people (29 per cent of the population) have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated.  (BGIS)
