Local News News Women to lead law firms Barbados Today11/08/20210176 views Dentons, reported to be the world’s largest law firm, has appointed two women to lead positions, including Barbadian Erica Marshall-Forde as managing partner of its Barbados operations. The announcement has come from Dustin Delany, chair, and regional managing partner in the Caribbean. While Marshall-Forde will head the Barbados firm, Shalini Rose Campbell has been appointed managing partner of the Trinidad and Tobago firm. This is the third year since Dentons established practices in the Caribbean. According to a statement released by the firm, Marshall- Forde and Campbell who are both practising lawyers “will also actively contribute to high-level regional decisionmaking and advancing the firm’s strategic vision in their respective jurisdictions with focus on practice and sector specialisation, innovative talent development, client experience management, inclusion and diversity, and operational efficiency”. Marshall-Forde remains the regional employment and labour, real estate and property development head for Dentons. She also maintains her position as co-leader of the firm’s Caribbean-wide infrastructure and PPP sector group. “As we continue to navigate the new dynamic decade, we recognise our people’s endurance and investment in our firm. Dentons is committed to nurturing future leaders who will shape the practice of law across the region whilst delivering exceptional client service within the Caribbean and across the globe,” said Marshall-Forde, addressing the regional team. The firm said Marshall-Forde’s real estate and property team has handled some of the region’s most complex financial transactions with the capabilities to address the wide variety of issues before they arise including construction and zoning, land use, corporate, tax, environmental and restructuring. She will also advise management in connection with employment, pensions and benefits, related litigation and mediation, corporate and governmental investigations, executive compensation, and severance.
