COVID-19 UPDATE: 19 new cases, 136 in isolation

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory has reported 19 new cases of COVID-19, comprising seven males and 12 females. The number of tests conducted on Thursday, August 19, was 1,559.

There are currently 136 persons in insolation.

Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 4,628 confirmed cases of the viral illness (2,257 females and 2,371 males), and 48 deaths. The public health laboratory has carried out 245,843 tests.

To date, a total of 101,732 first doses have been administered under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19. While, 88,986 persons (32.8 per cent of the population) have received their second dose and are fully vaccinated. (BGIS)
