Children’s vaccination drive begins tomorrow

Government will commence the vaccination of children aged 12 to 18, using the Pfizer vaccine, which is currently approved for use within that demographic.

Chief Education Officer, Dr. Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, has announced that the roll out will be done in a phased approach, beginning tomorrow, Friday, August 27.

The target groups will be special needs students, sixth form students, and those in the aforementioned age category who attend tertiary institutions.

Parents or guardians who wish to have their children inoculated may visit the following centres: Harrison College, Crumpton Street, St. Michael; St. Leonard’s Boys’ School, Richmond Gap, St. Michael; Princess Margaret Secondary School, Six Roads, St. Philip; Building #2 Harbour Industrial Park, Bridgetown; the Sharon Moravian Church Hall, Sharon, St. Thomas and the UWI Open Campus, The Pine, St. Michael.

The vaccination centres will open from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and persons are advised to walk with their identification cards.  (BGIS)
