BMS continues to monitor area of interest in the Central Atlantic

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) continues to monitor the progress of a tropical wave and associated area of low pressure located near 28 degrees west.

This system remains in the early stages of development, however, guidance continues to suggest possible tropical cyclone development over the next five days.

A general northwestward motion is expected with this system and therefore is not likely to pose any direct threat to the island.

The BMS will continue to monitor the progress of this feature over the next few days.

The BMS urges the public to continue to monitor its updates and alerts. The next update will be issued on Wednesday,  September 22 at 2 p.m.
