Bush Hall man in custody on arms and assault

Bush Hall resident Jabar Danko Yarde has been remanded to custody at Dodds prison on gun, ammunition and assault charges.

The 23-year-old from Pioneer Road appeared before Magistrate Kim Butcher on Thursday charged with having a .40 caliber semi-automatic glock pistol and ten rounds of ammunition without the valid licences to do so last Saturday.

He is further alleged to have assaulted Police Constable Jarad Hepburn as he executed his duties on the same day.

Yarde was not required to plead to the indictable charges in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Thursday afternoon when he made his first appearance along with his attorney Angella Mitchell-Gittens.

The accused man’s next court date is October 21.
