The BMS says heavy rains to continue into weekend

Barbadians can expect wet conditions into the weekend.

In a weather information statement, the Barbados Meteorological Services BMS) said, “rainfall  accumulations are likely to peak over the weekend as the combination of a trough system and a tropical wave is forecast to affect the island.”

It advised that intermittent scattered moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout this period with rainfall accumulations of three to six inches and isolated higher amounts are possible.

The BMS said the activity would warrant the issuing of watches and warnings at short notice. It, therefore, urges the public to continue to stay alert for its updates.
