CXC to announce results Thursday

The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) will on Thursday morning release the results of its exams for the June/July sitting at a ceremony in Guyana.

Students are expected to get their results online on Friday, according to a statement from CXC.

More than 20,000 students took the exams from June 28 to July 30. Exam season was delayed to allow students more time to prepare given the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

But the regional examinations body went ahead with in-person writing of the papers despite a chorus of disapproval by many students and parents.

Guyana’s Minister of Education Dr Priya Manickchand, Registrar and CEO of CXC Dr Wayne Wesley and Guyana’s Chief Education Officer Dr Marcel Hutson are to give speeches.

Director of operations at the Examinations Services Division at CXC, Dr Nicole Manning will present a report on the “administration of this year’s examinations and share highlights of the regional performance outlook” for the various exams administered by CXC, including the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) and the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC).

The ceremony is to be held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre in East Coast Demerara, Guyana and will begin at 9 a.m. (AST) or 8 a.m. in Jamaica.

It will be streamed LIVE at: https://www.cxc.org/cxctv/.
