Crown discontinues case against White Hall man

A criminal case against a St Michael man facing an arms charge has been discontinued in the High Court.

Shane Mario Clarke, of Medford Land, White Hall, St Michael was accused of using a firearm without a licence on May 1, 2014.

When his case came up before Justice Carlisle Greaves on Monday morning, the Crown said it would not proceed with prosecution as there was no realistic prospect of a conviction based on the evidence.

Justice Greaves who presides over the No. 3 Supreme Court cautioned Clarke that the case against him could be brought again by the Crown but was dismissed at this time.

“You are free to go,” the judicial officer told Clarke after reminding him of the penalties for the use of an illegal gun.
