June trial set for murder accused in multiple shootings

A 22-year-old St Michael man facing a murder charge and seven other firearm-related offences will go on trial in the No. 3 Supreme Court on June 1.

 

Jakobe Jaheem Yarde of Nurse Land, Bank Hall, St Michael, denied murdering 25-year-old Jerome Stuart of 8th Avenue, New Orleans, St Michael, on April 16, 2022.  

 

During his arraignment before Justice Carlisle Greaves, Yarde also pleaded not guilty to using a firearm without a valid licence; unlawfully wounding Steve Hackett with intent to do him serious bodily harm or to maim, disfigure or disable him; unlawfully and maliciously wounding Hackett; unlawfully wounding Rasheed Bishop with intent to do him serious bodily harm or to maim, disfigure or disable him; unlawfully and maliciously wounding Bishop; and to maliciously engaging in conduct, namely shooting at Michael Preville and Ceejay Ifill, with intent to place them in danger of death or serious bodily harm.

  

Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Krystal Delaney is prosecuting the case while defence attorney Sade Harris represents Yarde.
