Significant haze advisory remains in effect for Barbados

A significant haze advisory remains in effect for Barbados.

The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) said: “Hazy conditions due to a combination of Saharan dust and volcanic smoke from La Palma, Canary Islands will continue to reduce visibility across Barbados and the surrounding marine area.

“These conditions are expected to improve by tomorrow morning, with further improvement over the weekend.”

The BMS has advised residents, visitors, and marine users to be prepared to take action, as a significant reduction in visibility is either likely or already occurring.

The advisory will end at 6 a.m. on Friday or sooner if conditions warrant.
