298 new cases of COVID-19

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 298 new COVID-19 cases, 149 males and 149 females, on Saturday, October 30, and conducted 1,658 tests.

The new positives comprise 64 persons, who are under the age of 18, and 234 who are 18 years and older.

There are 808 people in isolation facilities, and 5,296 in home isolation.

One death was reported, that of an 85-year-old Barbadian male. He was unvaccinated.
Confirmed deaths, as of October 30, 2021, stand at 153.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 148,757 (65.1 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 126,355 (46.6 per cent of the total population or 55.3 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.

The public health laboratory has carried out 388,760 tests since February 2020 and recorded 17,763 COVID-19 cases – 8,596 males and 9,167 females. (BGIS)
