St Michael man to appear in court on multiple charges

A St Michael man is set to appear in the District “A” Criminal Court on multiple charges allegedly committed on the compound of the Bridgetown Port in August.

Rashad Mathurin, 26, of Halls Road, has been charged with trespassing, going equipped, handling, possession, trafficking and intent to supply cannabis.

According to police, on Tuesday, August 24,  Port Security Officers were on duty in the Command Centre when they observed on surveillance cameras, three males traversing the inner confines of the Port’s compound.

Police said: “These men were acting suspiciously and Port Security Officers on mobile patrol were dispatched to the area to investigate. On their arrival, one man was apprehended at the scene, while the others, one of whom was the accused, made good their escape.”

The accused was arrested, interviewed and subsequently charged.
