COVID-19 Update: 393 new cases

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory conducted a total of 1,966 tests and recorded 393 positives – 168 males and 225 females on Tuesday, November 2. Of this number, 88 persons were under the age of 18, and 305 were 18 years and older.

There were 797 people in isolation facilities, and 5,845 in home isolation.
Six deaths were recorded on Tuesday – three males, aged 72, 81 and 94, and three females, aged 62, 88 and 91. One of the individuals was fully vaccinated; the others were unvaccinated.

Their deaths bring the number of lives lost to the viral illness to 164, as at November 2.

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 149,355 persons – 65.4 per cent of the eligible population – have received at least one dose of the vaccine. A total of 127,847 persons (47.2 per cent of the total population or 56 per cent of the eligible population) have received their second doses and are fully vaccinated. The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Barbados has conducted 394,284 tests and recorded 18,852 confirmed cases (9,114 males and 9,738 females) of COVID-19. (MHW/BGIS)
