Popular DJ ‘Jon Doe’ dies

Another well-known Starcom Network on-air personality has died.

HOTT 95.3 FM’s DJ, Warren Forte, popularly known as Jon Doe, passed away on Sunday. He was 46 years old.

This was confirmed by Station Manager Anthony Greene.

Forte collapsed suddenly at the Starcom studios and efforts by paramedics and doctors to revive him were unsuccessful.

Forte, a past student of Harrison College,  was trained in finance, a field in which he worked prior to joining  Starcom Network in 1999. He was  programme assistant and supervisor of HOTT 95.3 FM.

In a statement Sunday evening, Starcom Network said, “For many years DJ John Doe has consistently been rated by audience surveys as the #1 radio DJ in Barbados.”

Starcom Network extends sincere condolences to his wife, family and friends.

Forte’s death comes days after veteran broadcaster Dennis Johnson lost his battle with myasthenia gravis, a chronic, progressive disorder of the immune system. (EJ)
