COVID-19 Monitoring Unit investigating bus crawl

The COVID-19 Monitoring Unit and the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) are investigating a report of a suspected bus crawl.

The investigation comes after recent photos and video clips surfaced on social media showing a number of persons listening and dancing to music, and consuming what appears to be alcohol while on a local tour bus.

According to the current Emergency Management Directive, “no person shall host or attend a bus or other vehicular excursion”. Head of the Unit, Ronald Chapman, explained that the Unit did not receive an application for a vehicular excursion, nor did it give permission for such an event to take place.

He said the appropriate action would be taken once the Unit and the RBPF concluded the investigation. (MHW/BGIS)
