COVID-19 Update: 290 new cases recorded

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory identified 290 positive COVID cases – 128 males and 162 females – on Monday, November 22. The facility conducted 1,669 tests.
Of the new cases, 43 persons were under the age of 18, and 247 were 18 years and older.
There were 682 people in isolation facilities, and 7,429 in home isolation.
Two women, aged 77 and 78, died on Monday, at the Blackman and Gollop and Queen’s College Isolation Facilities, respectively.
They were both fully vaccinated. As at November 22, the virus had claimed 213 lives.
The public health laboratory has carried out 427,767 tests since February last year, and recorded 24,234 cases (11,583 males and 12,651 females) of COVID-19.
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 153,017 (67 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of persons who are fully vaccinated is 135,089 (49.8 per cent of the total population or 59.1 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
