Beaters three to be sentenced

A mother and two daughters found guilty of beating another woman will return to court on December 7, when their presentencing reports are expected to be completed.

When Octavia Nurse and her daughters, Tamisha and Nikita Gooding, all of Nursery No.2, Four Roads, St Philip, reappeared in the No.2 Supreme Court on Friday, the hearing was adjourned by Justice Randall Worrell.

The trio was found guilty of unlawfully causing serious bodily harm to Channa Weekes with intent to maim, disfigure or disable her, or to do some serious bodily harm to her on June 20, 2013.

They were also found guilty of unlawfully and maliciously inflicting serious bodily harm on Weekes.

Senior Crown Counsel Olivia Davis told the court that Nurse’s presentencing report was not yet ready but was expected to be available on the next appearance.

The three women are represented by attorney-at-law Kendrid Sargeant.
