BMS issues small craft advisory

A small craft advisory is in effect for Barbados for above normal sea swells as a result of moderate winds.

The Barbados Meteorological Services says the Atlantic high pressure system is generating fresh breezes of 20 to 25 knots (35 to 45 km/h) across the marine area, generating moderate swells of 2.0 to 2.5 meters ( 7 to 8 ft ) and increasing.

It has advised all marine craft operators to exercise extreme caution.

The advisory will be terminated on Tuesday, December 7, at 6 a.m. or sooner based on conditions.
