Man dies along St James road

Police are awaiting the findings of a post-mortem before classifying, as a road fatality, the death of a 59-year-old man whose car hit an embankment on Greenwich Road, St James on Sunday night.

Police have identified the deceased as Erwin Brathwaite of Zion Hill in the same parish.

According to lawmen, he was found lifeless behind the wheel of his vehicle after the accident which occurred around 9:15 p.m. as he was travelling towards Holetown.

The vehicle received minor damage to its left side mirror, left headlamp, left front bumper and left front fender.

Ambulance personnel were summoned to the scene but on arrival, they found no sign of life. A medical doctor later pronounced Brathwaite dead. (SD/BPS)
