Halo patrons ring in the new

Patrons remained in their respective cliques.

On the eve of the New Year the party scene bustled to life with one of the first events since the COVID-19 protocols were relaxed.

Partygoers craving a good time converged on the newly rebranded Halo Ultra Lounge, where the Ship Inn was previously located, in St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church From the arrival at the venue, patrons got a taste of what will be the new normal as they were required to present proof of vaccination or results from recent testing for the COVID-19 virus.

After the completion of the stringent checks attendees made their way into the venue. Those who wanted an extra layer of their safety precautions, snapped up the sold-out bubble booths where they could party with their own circle of friends.

The roster of deejays including Bill Gates and Niqo Vybz and Gunner hyped up the crowd for the live performances. Lil Rick was in fine form, performing a slew of the hit songs that have made him one of the island’s most well-loved performers.

The entertainer took it all the way back to his genesis with the mega track Hard Wine, which catapulted his soca career. In a full circle moment, producer of the track Peter Coppin was on stage for the flashback moment.

With a few moments to spare before the clock struck midnight Vincentian soca star Skinny Fabulous took to the stage.

Looking dapper in a perfectly fitted tailored suit, it was evident he was a man on a mission to impress. He did just that from his very first note.

When he paused to herald the beginning of a new year, the crowd excitedly joined him for the countdown and the ensuing merriment.

The attendees were energised from the moment he hit the stage and their energy level never waned throughout the performance.

His set included favourite groovy soca selections like Turn the Lights Down and Naked but he also took the energy level up with Charged Up and Famalay.

The excited crowd enjoyed every moment and were disappointed when the event ended to accommodate the curfew restrictions. (PR)
