Barbados records 361 new COVID-19 cases

The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory reported 361 new cases of COVID-19 from 1,566 tests conducted on Sunday, January 16.
The new cases comprise 163 males and 198 females. Of these, 55 persons are under the age of 18, and the remaining 306 are 18 years and older.
There are 102 persons in isolation facilities and 5,512 in home isolation.
Since the start of the pandemic, Barbados has recorded 35,734 cases of the viral illness from 503,806 tests.
There have been 269 deaths.
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, 157,634 persons (69 per cent of the eligible population) have received at least one dose. A total of 146,046 individuals (53.9 per cent of the total population or 63.9 per cent of the eligible population) are fully vaccinated.
The eligible population represents those persons 12 years and older.
