PM Mottley and AG Marshall sworn into office

Prime Minister Mia Mottley Thursday reiterated her intentions to continue the business of transformation shortly after taking the oath of office this morning before President Sandra Mason at State House.

Mottley, who scored her second historic 30-nil win less than 24 hours earlier, announced that her new Cabinet will be revealed on Monday.

Attorney General Dale Marshall was the lone minister to take the Oath of Office today. She also reiterated that Santia Bradshaw would remain Leader of Government Business in the House of Assembly.

Mottley again expressed her gratitude to the people of Barbados for “a very clear and decisive mandate.”

“We shall treat it with care as we have done before and we shall endeavour to continue the process of transformation if our country is expected to meet the challenges of the next 10-15 years.”

Mottley was accompanied by her parents, Elliot Mottley QC and Amor Mottley, BLP General Secretary Jerome Walcott, re-elected St George North MP Toni Moore and party supporters.
