Drug accused gets bail

A 30-year-old man was granted $2 500 bail on Thursday in connection with three drug offences.

Kenny Christopher Lawrence, of Union, St Philip will now make his next appearance before the District ‘C’ Magistrates’ Court on January 31 where that matter has been transferred.

Lawrence appeared before Magistrate Deidre McKenna in the Oistins Magistrates’ Court today on charges of possession, possession with intent to supply and having a trafficable quantity of cannabis on January 14.

He is also charged with failing to stop and pull to the side of the road at the sound of a police vehicle sounding a siren while he was driving a motorcar along Blades Hill, St Philip.

The accused, who was represented by attorney-at-law Angella Mitchell-Gittens, was not required to enter a plea to the charges. Station Sergeant Peter Barrow was the prosecutor in this matter.
