Nurse must pay man he ‘wounded’

An unlawful wounding charge against a 32-year-old vendor was on Friday heard in the Magistrates’ Court.

Aamir Akeibo Nurse, of Free Hill, Black Rock, St Michael now has ten months to compensate Shakur Bellamy $3 500.

If he fails to adhere to the order imposed by Magistrate Jared Richards he will spend three months at Dodds Prison.

“You need to understand that this behaviour is not acceptable at all,” the magistrate said to the first time offender.

Nurse had pleaded guilty to wounding Bellamy on January 19 after a gambling game got heated.

Before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today he issued an apology.

“Shakur, I am sorry that it got that far . . . it won’t happen again,” Nurse, who was represented by attorney-at-law Angella Mitchell-Gittens, said. Bellamy accepted the apology.
