Local News Creative arts facility still on the cards Marlon Madden23/02/2022079 views Charles Herbert, chairman of Goddards. The creative arts facility to be constructed at the Parkinson Memorial School is still on the cards and could be completed by summer if all goes according to plan. Word of this has come from Chairman of Goddard Enterprises Limited (GEL) Charles Herbert who assured “it is definitely happening”. GEL, which adopted the Pine, St Michael learning institution in 2018, is leading the $1.2 million transformation of the condemned Block B at the school into a centre for the arts to consist of three music computer labs, three theatres, and a visual arts classroom. The project was launched in early September last year with hopes of it being completed within about six months. However, that has been delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. When asked to provide an update, Herbert assured that the project was continuing, but said he was unable to commit to a firm completion date at this stage. He indicated that the tendering process had also caused some delay. (MM)
