Birch releases soca album Fete Mode

As Crop Over preparations begin, one entertainer has already released his contribution for this year’s sweetest summer festival.

Devere ‘Ill Blaze’ Birch has released his album Fete Mode which features Father Philis whose hit song Brawlin has amassed over 1 million views on YouTube.

Birch said that the album seeks to bring back the vibe partygoers have been missing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“My album seeks to bring back the party that we all have been missing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The album features international sensation Father Philis as well and since it has been released it has been getting a lot of positive response on social media,” he said.

As it relates to the collaborative song with Father Philis, Birch said that after he received countless calls and messages that he should
do a song with the viral artiste he decided to reach out and ask him if he would do a song with him and that led to the song Getting On Bad being created.

“I got many calls from persons telling me about him and I decided to reach out to him and see if we could do a collaboration since both of us are both influential and he agreed to collaborate with me, and we began to work days after he returned to Barbados.

Meeting him for the first time at RBS Studio in Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church was exciting, and we had a great time as we recorded. Father Philis and I will be teaming up to work on a number of projects together in the near future.

One of our plans is to go on tour in Guyana since he has never been to the country as yet. I have already begun to put the necessary preparation things in place to make it possible so we will be flying out together very soon,”
he said.

Birch said that while Crop Over is back on the cards he is a touring artiste and will be focused on touring and promoting his new album Fete Mode instead of opting to enter the Crop Over competitions.

“I am going to be touring and promoting my interest. I am also seeking to host my own shows as well. As it pertains to the soca competitions, they have never piqued my interest as they are no guaranteed profits from entering the competition,” he said.

The Soca recording artiste invites persons to listen to his album Fete Mode on major streaming platforms such as Audio Mack, TikTok and YouTube.
