BWA to Commence Work at the Belle Pumping Station

The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) advises that emergency work commences today Sunday, April 10th at the Belle Pumping Station.

The station will be offline between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and again between 6:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

On Monday, April 11th and Tuesday, April 12th the station will be taken offline between 9:00 a.m. and 12 noon and again between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. each day.

Residents and businesses in several St Michael and Christ Church districts, including Bridgetown, may be affected by low-pressure and outages. The full list of affected areas can be found on the BWA’s Facebook page.

The BWA strongly recommends that customers continue to store water to assist during the period of work. The recommended amount is five (5) gallons per person. Water should be stored in clean, covered containers. In addition to storing water, it is always useful to have disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer accessible to help keep you and your surroundings sanitary.

Water tankers will be dispatched to assist customers in affected areas as a temporary measure. However, there may be delays due to heavy demand.
