Mayers was fatally shot at Fairview Heights in the same parish in the wee hours of this morning. According to lawmen, officers from the District “B” Police Station responded to reports of gunshots being heard in the area around one o’clock and discovered Mayers’ lifeless body with injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
