Man remanded in connection with church attack

A 22-year-old man was remanded to the Psychiatric Hospital on Tuesday in connection with an attack at a church last month.

According to a release from the Barbados Police Service Joseph David Joshua Alleyne, of Ridgeway Plantation, Seaview, St James, pleaded guilty to wounding Pastor Gregney Holder, assaulting Alison Holder and criminal damage of property belonging to the Sion Hill New Testament Church on May 22.

He appeared before Magistrate Wayne Clarke at the Holetown Magistrates’ Court.

Alleyne was remanded to the Black Rock, St Michael institution for assessment and report pending sentence.
