COVID-19 Update: 326 new cases recorded

Three hundred and twenty-six new COVID-19 cases, 79 females and 247 males, were recorded from the 823 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory on Wednesday, June 29.

Of the positive cases, 21 persons were under the age of 18, and 305 were 18 years and older. 

The number of people in isolation facilities was 38, while 1,229 were in home isolation.  

An 89-year-old female passed away on Wednesday as a result of the viral illness.  

There were 477 COVID-19 related deaths, as at June 29.

The public health laboratory has conducted 704,874 tests since February 2020, and recorded 84,421 COVID-19 cases (38,631 males and 45,790 females).

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,616 (71.2 per cent of the eligible population).  The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 153,510 (56.6 per cent of the total population or 67.2 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
