Minister Abrahams extends condolences on passing of Ezra Alleyne

Minister of Home Affairs and Information Wilfred Abrahams has said that Barbados has lost one of its most astute legal minds.

He described the late Ezra Alleyne as a diligent student of the law, constitutional matters and politics, and a proud Combermerian.

Abrahams said Alleyne who was a former Deputy Speaker and Member of Parliament, 1976 – 1981, successfully brought to bear his legal mind and over 50 years’ experience to the benefit of his clients; noting that one of the most high-profile cases at the time was his defence of train robber Ronald Biggs in the 1981 extradition proceedings.

Mr. Alleyne, he said, served over the years as a trial lawyer, a legal adviser to the Public Utilities Board and as a specialist in international business law.

Minister Abrahams has extended sincerest condolences to his family and friends. (BGIS)
