Four-way stop signs have recently been installed at the Greaves Hill-Mangrove junction only a few days after a motor vehicle accident occurred.

This is an unnecessary and retrograde step having the potential of contributing to more frequent accidents in that location.

To create scenarios of four stationary motor vehicles with drivers waiting and looking to see who should proceed first, second. third or fourth, is to further complicate matters.

That environment is highly trafficked with commuters moving between a stretch from the airport to the Six Roads area, intersected by another stretch between the area of Kirtons and Foursquare factory.

A “hot and sweaty”, knee-jerk reaction to the latest accident occurring at that infamous junction is not the answer.

The installation of traffic lights or the construction of a Roundabout would be a far more useful initiative that can reduce accidents and save lives.
