COVID-19 Update: 62 new cases recorded

 There were 62 new COVID-19 cases, 23 males and 39 females, recorded on Thursday, September 8, from the 414 tests conducted by laboratories across the island.

The cases comprised six persons under the age of 18, and 56 who were 18 years and older.

The number of people in isolation facilities was 53, while 526 were in home isolation.

As at September 8, there were 556 COVID-19 related deaths.

The laboratories conducted 758,919 tests since February 2020, and recorded 101,809 COVID-19 cases (46,046 males and 55,763 females).            

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 163,392 (71.5 per cent of the eligible population).  The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 154,476 (57 per cent of the total population or 67.6 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.(BGIS)
