Ministry committed to supporting young entrepreneurs

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment is committed to supporting young entrepreneurs, Director of Youth Affairs Cleviston Hunte said.

Hunte spoke at Saturday’s Youth Enterprise and Talent Expo at Sky Mall. He said National Youth Week expo had become a critical initiative over the years to give young entrepreneurs much needed exposure in a highly trafficked environment.

“This programme is a critical one in the ministry. The National Youth Week celebration is one which we take very seriously because it provides young people with that dedicated space on the calendar where they can show the true talents that young people have,” Hunte said.

He added that the Ministry will continue to encourage young people to take up the opportunities being provided by the Government under several of its initiatives, including the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme.

“The Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme, which lies within the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment is here to serve you in relation to your business ideas; any young person in the mall who is hearing me [and] has a number of ideas swimming around in your head, you can come to us and our motto and mantra is to take your idea to enterprise.” (SB)
