Goals galore continued to be the order of the day in the ongoing Barbados Football Association Republic Cup and the Women’s Super League competitions being run simultaneously at various venues across the island.

At the Friendship venue yesterday Kickstart women trounced RF Prime 6-0 with a goal each from senior national women’s player Tianna Bynoe in the sixth minute, Shonian Smith 14th, Christaline Chandler 61st, while the skillful Asha Stevenson accounted for a brace in the 28th and 51st minutes along with an own goal in the 57th period of the match.

There were two men’s games as customary that followed the women’s and FC Mega Ballers edged Bydes Mill 3-2 compliments a brace from Shakir Knight with a penalty in the 17th and 41st minutes along with another by Malique Morgan in the 82nd. The men of Bydes Mill tried their best through Ijariah Outram (45th) and Jamari Roach (89th) but it was not enough to stop Mega Ballers.

In the featured encounter of the night, Cosmos buried 11 goals past Red Hill who did not respond. Perhaps, the goal rush was such that the BFA did not have the official names and times of the goalscorers for the match.

Pinelands and Mavericks women played to a goalless draw. In the two men’s game, St. Philip Academy hammered College Savannah 8-2 thanks to the efforts of Ashton Gittens (12th, 26th) and Shakari Blades (73rd and 80th) as they both registered braces.

Also contributing to the overall tally was Daniel Wilkinson in the eighth minute, Shaquille Harper scored in the 64th while Shaquan Marshall (89th) and Cade Rawlins (90th) scored respectively. The lone goalscorer for College Savannah was Donte Thorne via a penalty taken in the 13th minute and a 54th minute effort.

Over at Briar Hall, University of the West Indies Blackbirds trounced Technique women 4-0 led by senior national prolific goalscorers Shanice Stevenson in the ninth and 37th minute along with Rianna Cyrus in the 40th and 49th minutes respectively.

The men of Hillaby comfortably scored a 2-0 victory over Beverly Hills with credit to Brenton Stewart and Devonte Munroe with a goal each in the second and 81st minutes. In the second and final men’s game at that venue, Barbados Fire Service defeated Technique 1-0 with a fourth minute goal from Akeem Ashby.

It was goals aplenty over at the Holders Hill, St. James venue when FVFC Femeni crushed Combined women 17-0 with a total onslaught from Cossette Brathwaite inclusive of a haul-trick in the sixth, tenth, 22nd, 28th, 29th, 31st and 51st minutes.
