The Barbados National Oil Company Limited (BNOCL) continues to play an important role in the development of communities.

Education Month was celebrated in October under the theme Promoting Quality Education Through Healthy Minds and Bodies. Literacy week, also fell during the month and was celebrated October 24-31. As a part of the Energy Group’s plans, the Barbados National Oil Company Limited and the Barbados National Terminal Company Limited (BNTCL) reflected on their core value of empowering Barbados’ children and enabling them to enjoy a better quality of life.

As a result, the Energy Reading initiative was implemented so that staff could give back by reading to a few of the schools in their vicinity. Prior to the reading, staff participated in a book drive, where books were donated to two participating schools, Reynold Weekes and Gordon Walters Primary. The students were extremely excited to have the staff read to them and they enjoyed the interaction immensely. (PR)
