Harrison College defeat Queen’s College 42-31

Queen's College (in white and blue) were unable to properly defend against Harrison College.

Harrison College fought hard to register a 42-31 victory over host Queen’s College yesterday afternoon when they met in the National Sports Council Under-19 Schools Basketball Competition.

The visiting Harrison College team won the opening quarter 11-4 but Queen’s College capitalized on some sloppy play by Harrison College and took the lead 16-13 and 25-22 in the second and third stanzas. But before it reached the point of no return, the visitors tightened up their game on both ends of the floor, especially offensively, and emerged the victors.

Top scorers for Harrison College were Lanner Sugram with 12 points while Darin Weatherhead and Wesley Moseley
both accounted for ten points each and Jonathan McCollin tallied six. Michael McGeary and Wesley Moseley scored two points each.

Zachary Haynes was the only Queen’s College player to reach double digits with ten while the next best scores were from Ty Ward and Zane Gaskin with six points each.

Dwight Rouse and Frederick Bynoe refereed the game.

Harrison College will now look to finish top of the North Zone table as the competition continues.
