Kloth Pop-Up Shop & Expo returns with a bang

The popular Kloth Pop-Up Shop & Expo returned with a bang for the holiday season, as hundreds of Barbadians descended upon the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Saturday for the small business expo.

With just two weeks left until Christmas Day, visitors to the pop-up were able to choose items from a variety of small businesses, selling everything from holiday ornaments, clothing and accessories, makeup and cosmetics, and other services from local brands.

Khadija Millar, founder and coordinator of the Kloth Holiday Pop up shop and Expo, spoke to Barbados TODAY during the course of the event, and said that this year’s Christmas expo has been a successful one thus far, stating that the response from vendors and sponsors this time of year to the expo was overwhelming.

“As you saw, businesses literally came to a halt for some people [over the last two years], and these expos were pretty much like a come back … people were pretty excited to [return] and showcase their products and services at the event and be able to interact with their customers again.

She added: “Recently we realised that almost 300 vendors wanted to participate; of course we can’t hold everybody but we have the interest of almost 300 vendors wanting to showcase their products and services. So, we see an  increase in requests [from] vendors, for sponsorship, and attendees.” (SB)
