Unnatural death: Body found following house fire

Police are investigating an unnatural death following a fire that destroyed a house just after two o’clock this morning.

According to police, the fire occurred at the premises of a house with a shop attached at Westmoreland, St James.

When officers arrived at the scene, they were informed by fire service personnel that there was body inside the building.

Three fire tenders responded to the fire and extinguished the blaze. The house was destroyed.

Investigations are continuing.
