Features News Bajan Fusion gives back for anniversary Barbados Today24/12/20220290 views Celia Collymore This year Bajan Fusion, a Fitness Lifestyle Service, is celebrating its 10th anniversary on December 31st, 2022 and will host a food donation drive to the HIV Food Bank to mark the occasion. Owner Celia Collymore said the aim is to help improve the lives of others. “As our company celebrates its 10 years in business, we wanted to close the year doing something special and meaningful for others as we remember those who are considered less fortunate. Every year on December 1st countries around the world celebrate World Aids Day. So naturally, the HIV Food Bank is our go-to organisation for the month, as we have worked with them in the past. “That’s when we came up with the idea of 10 Outta 10. There will be ten days (December 11th- 20th) of fun-draising for ten years in business. We reached out to our fitness community and persons in our business network and a number of them donated either non-perishable food items or cash that will be used to purchase food items,” she said. The former student of Pace University, New York, who studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a focus on Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Management, volunteered last week at the HIV Food Bank’s annual Health Fair and Christmas Luncheon. Collymore said she quite enjoyed volunteering since dance fitness got people more physically active and it was great to see them laughing and having a good time. She added that philanthropy is a major component of the company’s organisational culture as they have been raising awareness and supporting causes that are important to them since their inception. “We are a company that cares and is willing to give our time, talent, and resources to worthy causes. In 2023, there are a number of causes and charities we would like to support. We are now in the early stages of planning and preparing to contact the organisations and/or groups of interest,” she said. Collymore noted the partnership between her company and the HIV Food Bank goes back to 2013 with their Pedal for a Purpose Bicycle Tour and Fundraiser and dance fitness sessions held at the annual Health Fair and Christmas Luncheon. Former Food Bank Manager at the HIV Food Bank Stacia Whittaker said she enjoyed working with Bajan Fusion. “The company has a unique business with a difference and I pray they will continue to build on it and succeed. I think they have something to celebrate as they have incorporated giving back into their business,” she said. Collymore encouraged other companies to give back to charities like the HIV Food Bank and or any other charity that they wish to support. (Write Right PR Services)
