Veteran T&T calypsonian Black Stalin dies

Trinidad and Tobago’s calypso veteran Leroy ‘The Black Stalin’ Calliste has died.

Stalin passed away peacefully this morning at his home in San Fernando.

He had recently celebrated his 80th birthday in September and was celebrated at an event in Gasparillo.

Stalin won the Calypso Monarch competition on five occasions and the Calypso King of the World title in 1999.
