Road accident victim ID’d as Owen St Elmo Cumberbatch

Barbados’ latest road accident victim has been identified as Owen St Elmo Cumberbatch, 45, of Emerald Park, St Philip.

The tow truck operator was killed in a freak accident on Saturday.

Police say he was struck by a vehicle in Newbury, St George, around 10:30 am. He died on the spot.

According to reports, Cumberbatch was loading a vehicle onto the back of the tow truck when a motor car struck him.

He is the second road fatality of 2023.
